Nothing bothers me more than looking up a recipe and having to scroll about 7 times to the bottom of the article to ACTUALLY find what I need to make it! To avoid that, here is the recipe for the shake depicted. I make this after the gym when I don’t have everything for a hearty breakfast. I tend to wing these things so feel free to the same with below… any mixture of these is deemed to taste good.
Ingredients
5-6 Ice Cubes
3/4 cup of almond milk (or a couple scoops of vanilla yogurt, won’t be plant based if you do this though) Add more if you like your smoothies more liquidy, as a shake.
6-10 organic raspberries *did anyone know that the word raspberry had a p in it…
2 table spoons of cacao powder *love the Navitas brand from whole foods featured! it’s not too expensive, they are a b-corp, and this bag has lasted me MONTHS!
Drizzle of honey
2 bananas (chopped)
3 tables spoons of peanut butter (preferably all natural)
Instructions
Add bananas, raspberries and ice cubes into blender. Add all remaining ingredients after and blend until smooth.
Some notes about one of my favorite ingredients listed above…
Cacao: SUPERFOOD. some highlights of WHY,
- highest plant based source of iron
- MOOD booster (suggest consumption on monday mornings…)
- has more calcium than cow’s milk (whaaat!)
Let me know what you think or if you have any favorite go-to plant based smoothie recipes.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
